Then, it also became a manga, drawn by Rito Kohsaka, and you could read it on Square Enix’s Gangan Online service from December 2018. In March 2023, a movie based on the series came out in Japan, and in July 2023, an animated TV series made by Kinema Citrus started airing.

During the Meiji Restoration era in the 19th century, there was a girl named Miyo Saimori. She didn’t have any special powers, and her stepmother treated her badly, making her work like a servant. When Miyo became old enough to marry, she hoped for a better life. However, she was disappointed when she learned that her fiancé was Kiyoka Kudou, a commander known for being cold and cruel. Other women who were engaged to him left within three days because of his reputation.

Since Miyo had nowhere else to go, she accepted her fate and got ready to marry him. But to her surprise, Kiyoka wasn’t the monster she expected. He was pale and handsome, and as they spent time together, they started to open up to each other. They both realized that they might have a chance to find true love and happiness with each other.
